Young woman looking stressed and overwhelmed

DON’T FORGET TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF BY PRACTICING SELF CARE.
You have to take care of yourself first before you can take care of anyone else. It’s hard sometimes because you have so many demands on you, in so many different areas. There are so many daily distractions and life choices to make. TAKE CARE TO BALANCE THESE FOUR AREAS TO HELP YOU GET AND  KEEP YOUR LIFE BALANCED.

SPIRITUAL HEALTH

PRAYER

Connecting to your spirit within, your higher power, God, the universe. Taking the time to pray, talk to, converse with, communicate with. Write in a journal and receive guidance and answers. Through prayer you can give your worry, stress, fear, any problem your facing in exchange for relief knowing you have support and abundance of anything that you’re looking for. It might not come immediately and if it’s not meant for you it might not come at all but something better will come in its place when you’re ready.

IF YOU TRUST AND HAVE FAITH IN THE PROCESS, YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED, I PROMISE.
Make time for this daily.

MEDITATION

Meditation is quieting the mind of useless chatter. It’s focusing on your breath while breathing deeply. Focusing on the here and now, this present moment, and reciting a mantra so that you don’t get distracted.
When you meditate you will actually feel your whole body relax, where you can feel good energy flowing to you like when you pray. Quieting your mind of what I call useless chatter, our own mind rambling on opens you up for creativeness and new ways of thinking. Make time for this daily.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL HEALTH:

Prayer and meditation are good for your mental and emotional health, so is writing in a journal every day, getting your thoughts out. Taking the time to have fun, experience joy and happiness. Finding something that is for you that makes you happy. Having a friend that you can confide in that listens and is encouraging, is a good thing to have if you don’t have one, read. there are so many good teachers, leaders, and mentors that you can have without even ever meeting them, by reading their work, so read, read a lot, and apply what you learn.

There are so many self-improvement books you can read to learn and grow as a person. There’s no reason why you can’t be anything that you want to become. The sky’s the limit. There’s a world of great teachers in books so you don’t have to remain conditioned by your childhood or circumstances. You can grow.

    1. Make lists and balance your priorities.
    2. Always have a dream, a goal, a vision that you would like to work towards.
    3. Take time to actually visualize your dreams.
    4. Learn who you are, and what works for you. Be that person. Life is a balance that you choose for yourself, because we are all different.
    5. Learn to express yourself and set up healthy boundaries.

PHYSICAL HEATH:

 EXERCISE

Find something you enjoy doing and do it. Keep moving. Walk, do yoga, stretch, run, do an exercise class, dance, lift weights. Do something every day or at least three times a week to stay or to get healthy. Keep a workout journal so you know how your progressing. DRINK WATER LOTS OF WATER eight to ten 8 ounce glasses a day seems to be what the experts say. EAT HEALTHY limit sugar and salt. Keep a food journal so you know what you’re eating.

FINANCIAL HEALTH:

Experts say you’re in a relationship with your money whether you know it or not. You have to treat your money good and it will stay, disrespect it and It will leave. Know what’s coming in and what’s going out. Keep it balanced.

Remember to combat overwhelm you have to take care of yourself first by practicing self- care.  To get and keep your life balanced, take care of these four key areas of your life spiritual, mental/emotional, physical, and financial. If you feel like your getting overwhelmed again just come back to this place and space for you to balance yourself again and again.

  1. When I get really overwhelmed, I have to get away. Not a huge vacation getaway, but a simple drive to the river for an afternoon picnic, or a drive in the country, or wading in the creek down from our house. Really, just a time to let go and think of nothing.
